The U.S. Federation is proud to announce the launch of their brand-new website. Nearly a year in the making, we are launching the completely re-designed website on May 1, the feast day of St. Joseph the Worker. The re-designed website features a new streamlined look with easy accessibility to the features that users already know and love.
The process for a new website began after the results of the 2018 Communications Survey report. The survey asked congregational leaders and communicators throughout the United States to answer questions about how Federation communications could improve. One of the major asks of the study was to improve and overhaul the existing website.
As a result, the Leadership Council approved the funds and development of a new website in the spring of 2019. From there, a committee was created to help with the re-design, messaging, and roll-out of a new website. The committee was devoted to ensuring that the design and messaging matched the Federation's many audiences, including the new expanded membership initiative. The search committee consisted of communicators Jenny Beatrice (Carondelet-St. Louis), Stephanie Coats (Orange), Tara Rogers (Brentwood), Gina Sullivan (Congregation of St. Joseph) and director of information technology Jeff Minor (Carondelet-St. Louis). The committee also included Federation assistant director Kristen Whitney Daniels and former Federation executive director Sr. Patty Johnson and administrative assistant Joe Favazza.
This committee was tasked with searching for a new web developer. After narrowing down the search to six different web development firms, the committee went with Interactive Palette, a web firm located in Massachusetts that hosted the Federation’s previous website. The committee was impressed with their portfolio of work and their dedication to showcase the Federation’s mission and values.
It is our hope that users will see the new website as a "hub" for all things Federation-oriented. We encourage our users and members to explore our new website. Many features on the website have been updated, including our "Where We Are" feature, where users can easily access all U.S. congregations and provinces. One of the new exciting features of the website is its full responsiveness to different devices. Based on feedback we received, the website is now functional on cell phones and tablets.
We will continue to roll out updates to the new website, including an updated members-only section with new resources that will only be available to members of the U.S. Federation. We hope this will be a great resource for our ever-expanding new membership, including our agregees, associates, St. Joseph Worker community, and partners in mission. The website also features a leaders-only section for the leaders of the congregations and provinces that make up the U.S. Federation. Both the members and leaders-only sections will require new sign-ups for all sisters and members of the U.S. Federation. We will be in touch in the coming weeks on how to start this process.
The U.S. Federation would like to thank the website committee for all the time spent on helping to craft the new vision and design of the website. They were an invaluable support as we moved through this process. Though this website has been a year in the making, now is the exciting part for us – we get to present the website to you and the world. We are so excited for you to start using it. We hope the website will not only be a wealth of resources for our community but a message of our mission and Charism to the world.
