Artist Statement

I strive daily to make sure my efforts are for the glory of God. I have been gifted with a passion for art. I strive for a balance in my creative processes, to remember my creativity comes from God and without him I am nothing. In my personal work, I choose each subject from nature for its’ particular character, whether it be broken, weather-beaten, worn-out, sun-bleached. These characteristics are more representative of life’s struggles. I use the imperfections of nature in my work to communicate birth, beauty, suffering, resilience, joy, meaning, and death.

I have also painted religious themed paintings as a member of the liturgical arts committee and as gifts and fundraisers for my parish.
